Bartolini® MK-1 Pickups and Active 3-band EQ Preamp
MK-1 pickups deliver plenty of punchy and warm mids along with transparent and brilliant highs giving the Space 5 bass a superbly balanced sound. The accompanying active 3-band EQ preamp enables players to equalize and fine tune the perfect tone with its low, mid, and high frequency adjustment knobs.

Space 5 headless bass neck is constructed of Roasted Maple, renowned for its focused midrange, takes centre stage, bolstered by the punchy clarity of purple heart and the rich warmth of walnut. This is a fantastic bass for the price! I was drawn to the headless design and finish initially but after picking it up to feel how light it was, well balanced on the leg and tone control, I was sold. This bass thrives on a light touch playing style but still allows you to dig in nicely. The volume difference when switching between passive and active is fantastic with little difference in volume when eq is flat and not overwhelming when eq is turned up.
