High Performance 5-String Bass Strings

Elrick Fundamentals™ Nickel-Plated bass strings were developed in collaboration with renowned string designer Les Cooper (DR, Dunlop). Engineered with high-grade string wire to provide accurate stable tuning and intonation, and piano-like clarity without harshness.

Better Resonance & Stronger Fundamental

Constructed with a heavier hexagonal core wire, a thicker inner wrap wire, and a thinner outer wrap wire. This provides more resonance, stronger note fundamental, and dynamics throughout the fingerboard range.
Also, the thinner outer string wrap wire reduces string noise and finger grab. So, you don't have annoying string clacking or metal-like sounds.

Balanced String-To-String Tension

Each string has been engineered for reliable intonation, balanced tension from string to string and dynamic, balanced frequency responsiveness from low to highs.

Tapered B-String For Best Performance

Elrick Fundamentals™ Tapered B-string provides improved clarity, intonation and stronger fundamental. The tapered ball end design ensures that the B-string windings are not bent open at saddle. In addition, it allows for more saddle height adjustment to match the other strings.

This is my first time trying the Elrick strings and I’m very impressed & happy with them so far. These were replacing an older D’Addario set on my 5-string Roscoe that I put on a few years ago as a last resort as I couldn’t find my usual DR strings in stock anywhere. I like nickel on the Roscoe because they’re not as bright as stainless. They feel really comfortable, and I was very impressed at how they’ve been holding in tune from the first tune-up. The low B feels great – more resonance & keeping the fundamental than I’ve had before on previous strings. I’ll definitely purchase these again.

  2. Jesse Dietschi

Bought a set of these for my Sadowsky Metro a few weeks back based on Dave’s recommendation. Break-in time was relatively quick- I put them on a few days before a rehearsal and they were playable but still a bit zingy, and by the next rehearsal one week later they were perfect (didn’t do much playing in between so they can likely be broken in much faster).

I love the feel of them- I prefer nickel strings for the slick feel under my fingers more than the sound, and these strings feel great. I’m also really happy with the tension; they’re stiff enough to get a nice clean pull without hurting the fingers.

Tone-wise, they’re nice and crisp with lots of low fundamental. I like a nickel string that is still somewhat bright, and these certainly check all of those boxes. Time will tell how long they last, but so far I’m very happy with them.

I would recommend these strings. They’re a couple bucks more than your run-of-the-mill five string sets, but worth the money in my opinion! Thanks Dave!
