Bass Preamp Pedal With Big Tube Tone

Two Notes ReVolt Bass Amp Sim pedal features an all tube signal path with FX loop, MIDI, and Cab Sim. Inspired by an Ampeg® SVT ’76 and a Marshall® 1992 JMP Super Bass Mark II, plus a custom proprietary high gain bass amp, and specified for the exacting needs of the modern bass player.

3-Channels, 3 Voices, One Pedal

  • Channel 1 - Classic Clean is ‐ put simply ‐ iconic, delivering the thump, full‐frequency response and power synonymous with channel 1 on the legendary Ampeg® SVT ’76. A titanic tone guaranteed, oozing with rafter‐rattling low end, punchy mids and buttery smooth highs.
  • Channel 2 - Vintage Dirt is your weapon of choice in moments where you just need to cut above the rest. Taking inspiration from a Marshall® 1992 JMP Super Bass Mark II, this is the epitome of a larger‐than‐life bass tone topped with lashings of vintage dirt.
  • Channel 3 - Modern Drive delivers ultimate flexibility for the forward thinking player. Based on an original Two notes design, it's super‐tight with an abundance of gain for a thick “gained‐to‐the‐max” tone.
And for added tonal versatility, there’s a switchable Dry/Wet Blend that delivers precision and clarity when you need it.

I was intentionally waiting to write this review so that I’d spend as much time as possible with the ReVolt for Bass. I love this unit – it’s exactly the upgrade to my signal chain that I was hoping for. I’ve been a minimalist with regards to pedals and still find the multi-fx units a bit too daunting for me. The simplicity of having 3 very usable channels is great. I’m using the clean channel in most situations and it gives me the Ampeg tone I’m used to, with a lot of warmth. The grit channel is really good, nice & even and very listenable. It’s a great option for cutting through the mix. Even the modern distortion channel is very usable, but in my case it really is more suited for specific atmospheres I want to create. The FX loop is great and allows me to integrate the pedals I’ve been collecting. I’m looking forward to using the ReVolt in both the 4-cable method with my amp and as a preamp to my amp as well. I’m extremely happy with this purchase and love using it with all my basses.

The Two Notes revolt has really added a great amount of warmth to my sound. I’ll use channel 2 sometimes but can’t see me ever using channel 3. Still much cheaper and quicker than the Noble for what I really wanted it for – that classic tube warmth sound!

The only downside is the firmware was put of date by 3 versions and was very noisy and I had to pay an extra $60 elsewhere for a midi cable recommended by two notes to do the update. After that the pedal is great and has already been seated on my pedalboard!
